If you’re fetching images from Docker Hub, you’ll want to switch over to GHCR.

If you run Steampipe in a container, you’ve been pulling the image from Docker Hub. We are now migrating to the GitHub Container Registry (GHCR). We trust GitHub for hosting, and this move will simplify our stack.

Transition plan and timeline

To support our users during this transition, we will continue to publish Steampipe images to both Docker Hub and GHCR through Steampipe v0.21.x. Starting with Steampipe v0.22.x, we will exclusively publish new versions to GHCR.

We recommend you update your container pull commands to fetch images from GHCR instead of Docker Hub. Detailed instructions on how to do this can be found in our documentation: https://steampipe.io/docs/managing/containers.

As always, we remain committed to our open source community. If you have any questions or concerns about this transition, please do not hesitate to reach out to us in our Slack community.
